ACTIVE REIKI

Why Active Reiki?

I took my Reiki level 1 and 2 course over a weekend in December 2000, primarily to try to help my severe spondylosis in my spine. The following weekend my sister told us that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer and would have surgery and chemo in the new year. I wanted to use Reiki to help my sister. I didn't just want to help her with the stress or to help her relax, I wanted to help her with her cancer. I knew intuitively that simply placing my hands over the tumour and letting the energy flow wouldn't be enough, I needed to do more to make the Reiki as effective as possible and to maximize the healing potential. So I looked at ways to do this and incorporated these additional techniques into the Reiki treatment and decided to call it 'Active Reiki' to differentiate it from the 'Passive Reiki' that is commonly taught and practiced.

What is Active Reiki?

Active Reiki describes the method of Reiki I developed to maximize the healing effects of Reiki. The process is designed around clinical illnesses/injuries and emotional trauma and stress/anxieties.

There are three aspects of every healing treatment (this include medical procedures and medications) that determine how effective the treatment is:

The efficacy of the therapy

The placebo effect of the therapy

The placebo effect of the therapist

With Active Reiki we aim to maximize the benefits of all three aspects.

We research our clients conditions before we meet them so we are knowledgeable and professional when we speak to them. We ensure the language we use and our behaviour towards the client is optimized to boost the placebo effect to further enhance the healing potential.

We use our understanding of the client's conditions to develop a suitable and effective visualization and intention [see notes] with the aim of reversing and repairing what is damaged and restoring full health.

The practitioner channels Reiki energy at the required frequency while using the intention and visualization to maximize the healing effects.

Focus is important for this method so we use controlled breathing coordinated with the energy flow and intention/visualization throughout the Reiki treatment.

It is easier than it sounds! We go through the whole process on our Reiki level 2 training course with Parkinson's disease as an example of how we would apply the process to a clinical condition. Active Reiki can be applied to emotional conditions also. And of course Active Reiki can be used for relaxation and energising like other forms of Reiki, but with the added benefits of intention and visualisation!

Notes:

EFFECTS OF INTENTIONALITY ON DNA SYNTHESIS IN CULTURED TUMOR CELLS (1992) Dr Glen Rein, Ph.D. (Quantum Biology Research Labs)

The study used a healer Leonard Laskow with a non-healer as a control. Healing was applied to tumour cells in petri dishes using energy, energy plus intention, energy plus visualization and energy plus intention and visualization. The study found that using an effective intention and visualisation together with the energy healing can give a 39% inhibition of cancer cell growth.
